Cristianna Abilez, M.D.

Life Before Residency: I went to undergrad at Texas A&M University and majored in Biology, Grad school at UNT Health Science Center in Clinical Research Management, Medical School at Trinity School of Medicine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Memorable Moments: I got married to my best friend during medical school. We have a two year old son and he keeps us on our toes!

Why I chose RMC: From the interview dinner with the residents to the tour of the hospital and clinic, everyone I met was friendly and excited to share their program with us. It was very uplifting to meet a group of people that work really hard and might have rough days, but get through it together and act more like a family than a group of co-workers. I feel very lucky to be supported and mentored by such wonderful co-residents, attendings, nurses and office staff.

Hobbies and Interests: I really like to visit breweries at all of the new places I get to visit. I also enjoy Yoga (when I have free time) and listening to history and true crime podcasts.

Other Interesting Things About Me: I come from a giant and close-knit family in Texas. I was raised by a “village” of my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. They always supported and believed in me and I wouldn’t have become a physician without them.
